Did you know Clingmans Dome was renamed Kuwohi in 2024, restoring its original Cherokee name? We made the climb through fog, stood at 6,643 feet, and soaked in the history of a place where the Appalachian Trail and Mountains to Sea Trail meet. It was beautiful, even with all the fog! 100% worth it.

Showed up to Cataract Falls and found a line to take a photo 🫣 So we looked across the creek, spotted the Cove Mountain Trail, and had the whole thing to ourselves, including a hidden waterfall! Sometimes the best part of the hike is the one nobody else took.

Throwback to serving trail lattes for Appalachian Trail thru hikers. We brought fresh ground coffee beans and flavored syrups for tired hikers needing a little caffeine boost.

We also packed out trash before leaving because taking care of the trail is part of the magic too! Remember to always practice Leave No Trace.

Dillon has a new toy to play with this summer and is itching to cast a line in these Appalachia waters.

We had an amazing experience at Headwaters Outfitters in Rosman, NC. Highly recommend checking them out, even if you’re not in the market for a kayak. They have a cool place right on the French Broad River with food, drinks, and a neat store. It was a fun road trip for the Stonewall828 Fam!
