From modern to vintage pieces, this month’s auction, and some baseball chat. and I first connected at either OMBAS 2025 at Walt Grace Vintage for the Menta Watches event, or perhaps it was Rolliefest last Fall. We had some great conversation only to then see one another inside the orbit of Watches and Wonders back in April.

His appointment at A. Lange & Söhne happened to be immediately before mine, so we decided to join forces to create one large, two-time-slot-size appointments to maximize our time there. We went on to have lunch together where we were joined by none other than another previous Hodinkee employee, Jon Bues, so needless to say, we had some quality time at the venue together.

Rich is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to watches, and I was delighted to learn he would be interested in coming on this show as it seem I never have enough time with him, plus I knew nothing about his foray into watches or what he loves most. That’s all here, so I hope you enjoy it along with a small surprise by way of his time spent playing baseball.

I attended the Open House this past Saturday. It was well attended, per usual, but sadly I couldn’t stay very long as I was pressed for time. So, the number of photos taken was far less than I had hoped, the conversations were far fewer than I’d wished for as well. I genuinely wanted to experience more of the pieces in the flesh, but as I said, I had to be home and it was a 3-hour commute home. I’m still grateful to have seen those I saw, so here’s also a few of the snaps I was afforded timewise. Thanks so much, and congratulations to and on such a successful event yet again!

A few things. One major announcement is the Pre-Order for the Mugello Suede in Sand Beige is now live!

This is of course the follow-up to the Dark Olive from Fall/Winter and with a considerable amount of notice prior to the weather for which it will be suitable.

With the Dark Olive, I’m sure some of the folks were able to put it to use, but not for the entirety of the cooler months, so I’d like to course-correct that here. In fact, if you’d actually prefer the Dark Olive, either due to the regret of not getting one prior, or you simply prefer that color over the Sand Beige, then that is also being made available as a Pre-Order!

Please note the Sand Beige photos are of the sample, so all details are not present such as the hanging loop at the neck, and the inside portion of the jacket. To see those elements, visit the Dark Olive color way online.

The former DJ turned watch dealer gained a massive amount of exposure through his Tik Tok videos early in COVID, only to become one of those most trusted names in Vintage watches today.

I first met Mike in New York a few years ago, and we’ve certainly crossed paths in Miami as well as at Rolliefest this past Fall, but I wanted to learn a bit more about him. We chat a lot about travel, his upbringing driving into the city, working at a batting cage, and living only blocks from where he used to skateboard.
We also talk about his love of Cartier and what country has the best offering for vintage watches in general.
