Your pointe shoes need to breathe. 🩰

One of the simplest ways to help your pointe shoes last longer? Let them dry completely between wears.

Our R-Class cotton mesh pointe shoe bag features a large, open weave that allows air to circulate around your shoes after class—helping moisture and perspiration escape instead of getting trapped inside.

Compared with small-hole nylon pointe shoe bags, the wide cotton mesh provides significantly more airflow, making it easier for your pointe shoes to dry naturally between classes. Less trapped moisture can help preserve the materials, glue and structure of your shoes for longer.

A super hard or synthetic shank isn’t always the solution for very bendy feet. 🩰

Sometimes the dancer doesn’t need more stiffness — they need better support in the right places.

In this pointe shoe fitting, her old shank was so hard that it actually prevented her from getting fully over her platform. By moving her into the RC50 with longer wings for lateral support and a softer shank that could bend into her arch, we gave her both support AND articulation.

For flexible, bendy feet, the answer isn’t automatically the hardest pointe shoe you can find. The shape, wings, shank and overall construction all have to work together for that dancer’s foot.

That’s why pointe shoe fitting is about so much more than size and shank strength.

Can’t unsee it now, can you? 👀

Her old pointe shoes were too shallow for the volume of her foot, with very little wing or lateral support. On a very bendy foot, that left her without the structure she needed to stay lifted and supported.

The R-Class RC20 Brillante and AD19 Astra can create a very similar silhouette on the foot—but what’s happening inside the shoe is very different.

RC20 Brillante → traditional paste construction + pleatless platform
AD19 Astra → Adaptiv paste + synthetic hybrid construction + plastic platform stabilizer + stretch satin heel

Neither construction is automatically “better.” The right choice depends on the dancer, the foot, and what they need from their pointe shoes.

So looking at them side by side… which would YOU choose? RC20 or AD19? 👇

Loved your Nikolay/Grishko 3007 pointe shoes? The R-Class RC20 Brillante is one shoe to try at your next fitting. 🩰

Side by side, the 3007 and RC20 have a similar tapered shape and paste-based box construction. They aren’t identical shoes, and the right fit still depends on your foot’s shape, volume, and support needs—but if the 3007 worked well for you, the RC20 is a useful place to start.
