From early mornings to late nights… and all the little moments in between. 🤎

Some days I don’t think I even realize how much has changed until I finally stop long enough to take it all in.

My mornings often start early, packaging orders for Rooted & Wild Boutique LLC, getting local deliveries together and making stops on my way to work.

Then it’s a full day of everything else life has going on, followed by evenings spent at The Root Collective Co. , moving things around, organizing inventory, working on renovations and trying to cross just a few more things off that never-ending to-do list.

And lately, I’ve found myself ending those long days doing something that makes my heart so incredibly warm…

Standing outside our building, looking through those big windows and just taking it all in.

The lights glowing.
The clothing hanging on racks.
The denim displayed on old industrial carts.
The vintage furniture we’ve collected finding a whole new purpose.
All those little details I’ve spent months picturing in my head finally coming together.

And for a few minutes, everything gets quiet.

I’m not thinking about the unfinished walls, the projects waiting for us tomorrow or everything we still need to accomplish.

I’m just looking at something that, not that long ago, was nothing more than a vision.

And goodness… what a feeling. 🤎

What’s even crazier is that this isn’t even the finished version!

For those who may not know, Rooted & Wild Boutique is currently set up TEMPORARILY inside what will eventually become the salon at The Root Collective Co.

Our actual boutique space is still waiting for its transformation, and we have plenty of work ahead of us before the salon, studio and boutique are officially complete.

But I didn’t want to wait until everything was perfect to start bringing this old building back to life.

And after hosting our very first Our Fall POP-UP EVENT this week, I’m so glad we didn’t.

Seeing people shopping, enjoying coffee, grabbing something to eat, visiting with friends and supporting other small businesses gave me a glimpse of exactly what I’ve been hoping this place could become.

Because my dream has never been to simply open another salon or boutique.

I want to create a place people WANT to come to.

A place with character, history and personality.

A place where old meets new, where people feel welcome, where friendships are made and where our little community has another reason to come together.

And someday, I hope those benches outside are filled with people enjoying beautiful summer evenings, food trucks, coffee, good company and a little more life on this side of town. 🤎🌿

Because that’s something I’ve envisioned from the very beginning… creating a place that gives people another reason to come together, slow down, support local businesses and simply enjoy being part of our little community.

And I would absolutely LOVE to see this side of Manawa become a little gathering spot of its own.

I can picture it all so clearly.

And getting to build this dream alongside my family makes every long day and late night that much more meaningful.

There are still going to be plenty of challenges, changes of plans and moments when we wonder what in the world we got ourselves into.

But there’s something I’ve been reminding myself lately…

Don’t get so caught up in everything that’s left to do that you forget to appreciate everything you’ve already done.

Because someday, these early mornings packaging orders, deliveries on my way to work, unfinished walls, temporary displays and late nights standing outside looking through those windows will all be part of the story of how this began.

And I have a feeling they’re going to be some of the memories I treasure most.

So here’s a little look at our day-to-night world lately. 🤎

It’s not finished.
It’s not perfect.
But it’s ours.

And little by little, that vision I’ve carried in my heart is becoming something I can finally see right in front of me.

Can I tell you something I’ve really come to love about owning The Root Collective Co. and building Rooted & Wild Boutique LLC alongside my girls? 🤎

It’s the conversations.

The messages you send, the little chats when we’re out and about, the things you mention while shopping and even those moments when you tell me what you wish you could find.

And what means the most to me is that you feel comfortable enough to share those things with me in the first place.

I don’t take that lightly.

Because I’m not just getting to know what you like to wear… I’m getting to know YOU.

And that’s something we will NEVER lose, no matter how much Rooted & Wild Boutique LLC continues to grow.

One thing about me… I genuinely take those conversations to HEART.

I remember them.

I think about them when I’m browsing new collections, choosing styles and placing orders. And when I have the opportunity to bring something in that you’ve been asking for, you better believe I’m going to try!

I wasn’t just picking out jeans that I thought were cute. I was thinking about the women I’ve gotten to know and what YOU would love to see hanging on our racks.

A little tissue paper, a few finishing touches and a whole lot of appreciation going into every single bag!

Another day of filling orders at Rooted & Wild Boutique LLC, getting everything wrapped up and ready for local pickups and deliveries!

Okay ladies… after seeing how much you all LOVED the BED|STÜ collection at our Fall Pop-Up, I’m working on our next order! 🥹🤎

I’m restocking some pieces and taking care of all the special orders and pre-orders from Tuesday, but before I submit everything, I wanted to put out one more shout-out just in case I missed anyone!

This was five minutes before our very first Our Fall POP-UP EVENT started. 🥹🤎

I’ve watched this video more times than I’d like to admit tonight because for months, I’ve looked at this parking lot and this old building and pictured what could happen here someday.

And just minutes after this video was taken, I didn’t have to picture it anymore.

Cars started pulling in.

Coffee was being poured. ☕️
BBQ was being served. 🔥
Flowers were being made. 💐
Jewelry was being welded. ✨
Rooted & Wild was being shopped IN PERSON. 🌿

People were visiting, laughing, shopping, eating and hanging around.

There was life here.

And THAT is what got me. 🥹

This building is still under construction. We still have walls to finish, rooms to build, things to paint and about a million things left on the to-do list. But for the first time, I got to see past all of that.

I got to see a little piece of what I’ve been imagining The Root Collective Co. could become.

And I couldn’t have done it without the small businesses who trusted me when I basically said, “Hey… want to set up in my parking lot on a Tuesday?” 😂🤎

I’m honestly having a hard time finding the words tonight. 🥹🤎

When I first started talking about hosting our very first Our Fall POP-UP EVENT at The Root Collective Co. , I knew I wanted it to be more than just a day to shop.

I wanted people to pull into our parking lot, grab a coffee, shop, eat some amazing food, make a bouquet, get a little permanent jewelry and just stay awhile. I wanted it to feel like community.

But there was one little thing… I picked a TUESDAY. 😂

And I knew asking other small businesses to take a chance on a brand-new event, at a building that isn’t even finished yet, in the middle of a weekday, was asking them to trust me and this crazy little vision of mine.

And they DID. 🥹

Wild Grounds LLC — thank you for bringing the coffee and starting our morning off exactly how I pictured it. ☕️🤎

SmokeHouse Barbeque — thank you for taking a chance on our location, feeding everyone and sticking around with us all the way through the evening. 🔥

Carnation Creations — thank you for bringing such a beautiful and unique experience with your bloom bar. Seeing people walking around with their flowers made me SO happy. 💐

Linked With Love by Trista LLC— thank you for bringing the sparkle, the laughs and your beautiful permanent jewelry to our very first event. ✨

And Rooted & Wild Boutique LLC— my little family business with my daughters that somehow helped start this whole crazy adventure. Seeing people walk waiting for us to open today, shopping the boutique in person after months of packing orders from home… I don’t even know how to put that feeling into words. 🤎🌿

To every one of these businesses: thank you for believing in me enough to say YES. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for trusting that maybe this little Tuesday idea of mine could actually turn into something.

And then there is our COMMUNITY. 🥹

You guys SHOWED UP.

You came before work, on lunch breaks, after work, with friends, with your moms, with your daughters. You shopped. You ate. You drank coffee. You bought flowers and jewelry. You wandered through our unfinished building and told us how excited you are for what we’re creating.

Some of you drove in from out of town.

Some of you have been following this renovation from the very beginning.

And some of you stopped because you seen a food and coffee truck today.

Every single one of you mattered.

A few months ago, this was an empty old building with a whole lot of work ahead of us.

Today, I stood in that same parking lot surrounded by small businesses, customers, friends, family and community—and got a little glimpse of exactly what I dreamed this place could become.

A place people come to.

A place people stay awhile.

A place where small businesses support other small businesses.

A place that brings people together. 🤎

And we’re not even officially open yet. 🥹
