Friends who might have a want for mid-October Malas: I have some potential guru beads that are relevant! The owl is amazonite and I’m not 100% sure what the cat or the piggie are carved from, but they are likely jade or agate. The pig would go great with some flower jade and the itteh bitteh kitteh would be great with some green jade and moss agate. LMK if you want to work on something with me!

Amazonite varies so much in quality, location, and color. On the left is Mozambique and Russian *super* high quality, followed by Brazilian multi-colored 4mm beads and lastly some much less expensive but still respectable greenish-blue Amazonite. We price our pieces based on stone quality, so there is quite a range.

Sneak peek of an upcoming Blue Moon Mala! There’s Amazonite, Kyanite, Lapis, and Green Strawberry Quartz (who knew that was a thing?)

The colors are great and I love crafting with old silver bowls from my grandma’s house.

This mala was inspired by summer greenery in the sun: the Dendritic Jade holds many shades of green, and the White Jade is reminiscent of dappled sunlight shining through and off of leaves.

Dendritic Jade is grounding and promotes balance & stability; it also can help connect with nature.

White Jade promotes peace & harmony, and is a staple in meditative practices.

African Turquoise with Asteroid Jasper and a carved Picture Jasper Zuni Bear guru bead.

Note: African Turquoise is actually a jasper found in Africa that looks very similar to turquoise. It’s harder and more durable.

African Turquoise is considered the “stone of evolution” and helps to soothe nerves and release negativity, aiding in self-confidence.

Asteroid Jasper suppresses negativity and attracts positivity, aiding in optimism and bringing happiness.
