🚨 Warning: Brushing Scam Alert! 🚨

The Bismarck Police Department is urging citizens to be aware of a new scam that involves unsolicited packages. This scam is known as "Brushing."

What is a Brushing Scam?
A brushing scam happens when you receive a package that you didn’t order, but it has your address and most times your name as well, on it. These packages might come with no return address or appear to be from a well-known seller. Inside, you may find a tracking label or QR code.

⚠️ The Danger:
When you scan the QR code or visit the linked website, it can be used by scammers to steal your personal information and potentially compromise your security.

🤔What You Should Do:
If you receive an unsolicited package, do not scan any QR codes inside it. You can open the package and keep what’s inside if you wish or dispose of the items, but avoid interacting with any links or QR codes.

👍Stay Safe:
Never share personal information with unknown sources.
If you suspect fraudulent activity, monitor your financial accounts and report it immediately.
