Happy Black History Month – we’re back with another BHM Fashion Fact.

Did you know that the oversized trend has roots in Black culture?

Dating back to the 80’s hip hop era, oversized, or “baggy” clothing originated from Black families and communities who had to wear hand-me-downs due to financial hardships and it was an effective way to save money.

Rappers started performing in baggy clothing to be more relatable to their fans.

Today, oversized clothing is a huge trend, with women showing that oversized can be feminine and chic.
