I’ve been getting teary eyed (in a good way) this morning over positive comments about people’s experience yesterday at the first day of the first ever MHK Tiny Con. Seeing people asking for this be a yearly event and sharing how connected they feel to a developing local cosplayer and maker community is exactly the outcome I was hoping for. Everyone needs a community, whether it’s based around sports, hunting, cars, gaming, or cosplay. The cosplay and Comicon community have been so good to me, I am passionate about bringing it to this town that I love.

Thank you all for making it such a great day yesterday. If you’ve had a wonderful time already at the con or if you have a wonderful time today (the show is open from 12-6pm) please consider buying some merch to help the show grow! The funds will go towards a bigger and better show and support the Broken Canon Cosplay Workshop, but the visibility of fans sporting Tiny Con logos around town would be even more powerful! You’ll also get the bonus that if I happen to run into you around town, it would absolutely make my day to meet you.

I definitely plan on making this an annual community event if there’s enough positive response about folks’ experiences this weekend.

♻️ Give Your Textiles a Second Life! 🌎💚

We're excited to welcome NEW textile recycling bins to Manhattan Town Center, in partnership with SBR Textile Recycling LLC!

Have clothing, shoes, or other textiles you no longer need? Instead of tossing them in the trash, give them an opportunity for a second life!

🌱 What makes this program different? These bins provide another option for collecting textiles for reuse and recycling, helping reduce waste and keep materials in circulation.

📍 Look for the bright green bins in the Manhattan Town Center parking lot!

💚 A friendly reminder: We always encourage donating gently used items to our wonderful local nonprofits and organizations serving families in need. These recycling bins are simply an additional option, especially for textiles that may not be suitable for traditional donations.

Together, we can support our community AND make more sustainable choices!

🎃 Mark your calendars! All Treat's Day in Downtown MHK is October 30th.

Bring the kids downtown from 4-6pm for trick or treating at participating downtown businesses AND the Boo Party inside Manhattan Town Center.

While you are in the neighborhood, stop by J&C Imaging in your costume for a Spooky Vibes photo on a fun backdrop. It is free with a canned good donation or cash donation for the Manhattan Emergency Shelter.

Then stick around for Movies in the Park at Blue Earth Plaza. Manhattan Parks and Rec is showing Coco at 6:30pm. Grab a blanket and settle in for a perfect Halloween eve night under the stars.

October 8 celebrates National Mall Walking Day, a day recognizing shopping malls as more than places to shop. They’re also places to walk, connect, dine, explore and gather as a community.

The date has a little mall history behind it, too! National Mall Walking Day was founded in 2019 and commemorates the opening of Southdale Center in Edina, Minnesota, on October 8, 1956, widely recognized as America’s first enclosed shopping mall.

So today, get those steps in at Manhattan Town Center! Walk a few laps, browse your favorite stores, grab a bite to eat, or make a morning of it. If you're looking for a regular walking challenge, checkout the Mileage Club station across from Ulta! 👟🛍️
