Hi! Jumping on here for a quick check-in from the atelier. 🤍
No matter the season, this space is where my heart is. Summer always brings a welcome shift in rhythm—a little bit of a slow season that I am fully embracing right now.
Between upcoming appointments and gearing up for fall, I’m using this quiet time to do a few resets around the showroom and quietly work on new garments I can't wait to share with you all.
Most importantly, I’m taking some much-needed time off over the next few weeks to step away, rest, and recharge the creative batteries.
Hope you’re all finding a little time to slow down, too. ✨

Epic scenery demands an equally epic gown. ✨

When our beautiful bride took this 1930s liquid satin gown to Yosemite, the match was absolute perfection. The architectural drama of the mountains met the fluid, breathtaking drama of historical craftsmanship.

Finding "the one" is a journey. Our bride explored our hand-sourced collection of one-of-a-kind vintage gowns in person, discovering this masterpiece during a private appointment at our Maplewood atelier.

Three generations of women, one extraordinary heirloom. 🤍 This beautiful silk slip and delicate lace dress made its way to my studio all the way from Vermont, carrying with it the history of a grandmother and an aunt who both walked down the aisle in it before our lovely bride. Swipe to see the journey of restoring this piece of family history.

Delicate vintage textiles require a lot of grace—and patience. The fragile lace overlay arrived with dozens of tears. I spent hours meticulously hand-mending the lacework, matching threads perfectly to bridge the gaps while completely preserving the original integrity of the design. 🧵🪡

After gently and safely cleaning both layers and finishing the intricate lace restoration, the dress was finally ready. Seeing it hanging in the studio, completely restored and ready for her wedding day, was an absolute joy. It is such an honor to work on pieces with this much history. ✨

Seeing this heirloom officially step into its third chapter is incredibly special. She looks absolutely stunning, proving just how timeless and vibrant sustainable, slow bridal fashion can be. It’s a beautiful tradition, beautifully continued. ✨

They say mother knows best, but in this case, my daughter found the best! 🌸

I couldn't resist showing you this incredibly special vintage ensemble she sourced for me in Vermont. It's a 1980s Priscilla of Boston, and anything but cookie-cutter.

A removable, sheer organza top lays beautifully over an updated ✂️structured strapless ball gown. The actual showstopper, though, is the artisanal embroidery—a beautiful cluster of pink lilac flowers and soft green leaves that adds that perfect 'personality-driven' pop of color.

I wish I could show it to you in person, but a savvy bride snapped this one up before it was even in the atelier for a week!

As a designer, my greatest joy isn't just reimagining these vintage garments, but also seeing how my daughters' discerning eyes and devotion to the 'slow fashion’ movement help keep Maybelle filled with true, one-of-a-kind treasures.

Beyond the beauty, we love silk because it’s a "living" fabric—it’s naturally hypoallergenic, incredibly strong, and it breathes with you, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
