180 wine glasses washed today! Wow! What a job!🍷

One more step closer to opening the doors at Grandma’s Parlor. Every little job brings the dream a little closer to becoming reality. ❤️

Yesterday I followed our precious cargo down the road to Grandma's Parlor. Today it's sitting exactly where it belongs, surrounded by treasures that each tell a story—including the antique cabinet I reluctantly gave up from our living room, now beautifully displaying some of my favorite Hummels. (Wow... I guess I really am getting old if I'm finally willing to part with my Hummels! 😊)

Downstairs in Grandpa's Limestone Cellar, the steamer trunk is finally in place, with Grandma and Grandpa watching over it while the old railroad lantern casts its green glow.

Every day, Grandma's Parlor feels a little more like home. Now all I need is a bed tucked away somewhere so I can sneak in a nap when I run out of steam. 😴❤️

If you want bling, Grandma's Parlor has you covered! 💎

I just added this gorgeous antique jewelry showcase, and it's already filled with vintage jewelry, crystal, and quite a few beautiful Swarovski pieces. Stop in and treat yourself to a little sparkle!

And isn't this antique curved-glass jewelry case a beauty? I think it may be one of my favorite pieces in the store! ✨

**Grandma's Parlor finally has her sign up and the words on the front door! ❤️

It's funny how a couple of finishing touches can change everything. For the first time, I looked at the building today and thought... it's really happening.

I'm so grateful to everyone who has encouraged us and helped bring this dream to life. We can't wait to welcome you through those doors.**

Today Lynn and I did some very important research.

We visited his cousins' distillery and sampled more wines than I can count. The funny part? Nearly every wine Lynn loved, I didn't... and nearly every one I loved, he didn't!

So we decided that was actually the perfect outcome. Because I can honestly say "Lynn and I couldn't even agree on our favorites, so we decided to carry both!" More to choose from.

Evidently everyone's taste is different. —you'll have to come discover it for yourself.

When Grandma's Parlor opens, grab a friend and stop in for a wine tasting. Your new favorite bottle might be waiting for you... and it may not be the one you expected. 🍷❤️

Where there's a will, there's a way. ❤️

Tonight’s project was getting the dried flowers and grapevines hung above the Welcome entrance at Grandma's Parlor.
Wow… at nearly 67 years old, my balance just isn't quite what it used to be. 😊 But thanks to my trusty two-handled ladder, I got through it still standing.

A huge thank-you to kelly dyer, who surprised me yesterday with fresh watermelon (the perfect energy boost! 🍉) and offered her organizing talents to help me once again as I’m racing to finish Grandma's Parlor. Her kindness, encouragement, and generosity has meant so much to me. Thank you, Kelly! ❤️

Tonight I’m standing back, looking at the Welcome entrance, and smiling big. It turned out just the way I had imagined. And the flowers smell amazing!

I found this wolf at an estate sale yesterday. I'll admit, this one may be hard to part with. I've always wanted something like this in my home. Until someone decides to take it home, I'm going to enjoy admiring it every day at Grandma's Parlor. 🐺 Doesn't he look real?

I have to admit, I really wanted to bring the pig I posted last week into Grandma's Parlor. I appreciated reading all your thoughts and comments about it. I've always loved pigs, and I still may find a place for one someday.

But every time I thought about it, I kept coming back to the heart of the store.

Grandma's Parlor was inspired by my dad's memories of sitting in his mother's parlor playing the piano, his love for Belgian horses, and the simple joys of growing up surrounded by family. Those memories are the roots of everything we're creating.

So I put the pig on the back burner and stayed focused on the story that started it all.

Now I've come across this carousel horse, and I can't help but think about the children who will visit Grandma's Parlor. Not that we need a bunch of little ones running through the glassware! 😊 But my dad had a special love for children, and Lynn and I do too.

Something about this horse feels like it belongs here. Yellow is actually my LEAST favorite color, but I don't think it is a bright yellow. It might actually fit the era and might kind of compliment all the wood, iron, and vintage character throughout the store.

And then there are the memories. My dad never missed taking us kids to the circus or to the fair when they came to town. Even when the rides made him sick, he was always the first one to jump on with us. Looking at this carousel horse brings back memories of us kids with our dad. He sure loved seeing us have fun. He never let us skip the horse barns. I remember being a terrified of getting kicked as we walked down those aisles, but Dad loved every minute of it.

So now I'm wondering...

What do you think? Does the Yellow Carousel horse fit the spirit of Grandma's Parlor? Or....should I wait to see if I can ever find one with more wood tones?

I think he enjoyed my reactions as much as I enjoyed being with him. What I wouldn't give to walk through those barns with him one more time." ❤️🐴

I Just finished designing my wine labels that I want for Grandma's Parlor!

The plan (at least for now) is to start with just three wines:

🍇 Concord

🍑 Peach

🐴 Belgian Horse Reserve (a smooth, approachable red)

I fell in love with the idea of a raised embossed cream label with just a touch of gold foil, along with small antique gold charms hanging from the neck of each bottle to identify the wine.

Now comes the challenge...

I have to find someone who can actually produce the embossed labels the way I'm envisioning them and help me source the little gold charms!

What do you think of the concept? Would you prefer the wine identified by a small charm (grape, peach, horse) or by words on the bottle?

And most importantly... if you walked into Grandma's Parlor, which bottle would you reach for first: 🍇 Concord, 🍑 Peach, or 🐴 Belgian Horse Reserve?

Where roots run deep. ❤️
