Something I've been noticing this week, as the women coming to Elle start showing up.
One has been quietly making things for everyone else in her life — small, beautiful, hand-built things — and is finally turning to look at her own life and ask, what about me?
One has lived through something that taught her more about love and aliveness than most of us ever get the chance to learn — and is ready to do something with what she now knows.
One has been the one who handles everything — at home, at work, for her mother — and is finally saying, I am no longer available for this version of my life.
One is at the top of her field and is realizing that her brilliance is the thing she's been smallest about.
They're not in the same place. They're not even after the same thing. But there is one quiet line running through every one of them:
Something is calling, and I don't quite have the words for it yet.
That's enough.
That's the whole invitation.
Five Wednesdays starting tomorrow. A small group of unusually awake women. And me as their guide on a tour of possibilities they haven't yet let themselves imagine out loud.
If something has been pulling at you too — link in the comments.
