Before a devastating blight nearly wiped it out in the early 1900s, American Chestnut was one of the most important trees in the eastern U.S. — strong, straight-grained, and loved for its warm golden hue.

Today, we’re giving this legendary wood a second life.

This American Chestnut is from the last great stand near Tomah, WI in Monroe County.

As the holidays approach, we’re reminded every day that our shop isn’t just a place of work — it’s a family tradition in motion. Our three boys are growing up surrounded by sawdust, scrap wood, and the rhythm of craftsmanship.

They “help” sweep, stack wood, and hand us tape. Most importantly, they remind us that what we build today becomes the legacy we pass down tomorrow.
