This Metlox teddy bear cookie jar is admiring the antique stretch swung ribbed glass vase that has turned a lovely lavender color from UV exposure to the manganese in the glass. Manganese dioxide was historically added to glass batches around the 1880's - 1920's to clarify the glass from the iron impurities in the sand. The manganese also emits a subtle green or yellowish-green fluorescence under a black light. The cookie jar will be arriving at the booth soon but I am not so sure about the vase. 😍

Picked up this 2001 The Simpson's Monopoly game on a "Chance". All the pewter pieces and property cards are there...yay! Then I count the money and I'm missing a few bills...to be expected but hopes are still high. Then I discovered I'm missing one hotel, five houses and ONE Chance card...ugh. 😢 All the Community Chest cards are there. Would you buy a vintage Monopoly game with those pieces missing? 🤔
