1954 M38A1. I got the engine free and running. After cracking it open I realized it was a fresh rebuild that apparently sat due to health reasons by the previous owner who ultimately passed. I sourced the few missing pieces and now it is headed down to Vero Beach, Florida for a full and proper restoration by a retired veteran. If, you see it traveling South along I95 thank that vet, give a honk and a wave.

Update on the 65 CJ5 with suspected cracked block. The bore scope that I ordered months ago is for an I phone. I didn't realize you could purchase an adapter so I ordered one for an android. Doh! This will help determine if there is something else going on before yanking another head (that would be 4 currently if you count the L-head that came in another M38A1).

I upgraded to a solid state ignition and flamethrower coil so its back to fast easy starts. I will probably perform a full tune and oil change after I play proctologist. I also discovered that the fuel pump routinely loses prime. And there's a nasty exhaust leak as well as a crack/break in the exhaust manifold. Leaking valve cover as well. I dont think I will get to those before next week as I have a hot date with a 54 M38A1 in my shop tomorrow. I let it idle in the hot afternoon sun but it never overheated. The battery is no longer holding a charge and then the temp gauge quit gauging. It has turned in to a list now that I have committed to scraping and painting my house before July 4th. %$@&^%
