Matagorda — About 2017 🌴
Anybody remember Matagorda looking like this?
These aerial photos were taken about 2017, and looking back at them now is almost like opening an old photo album.
The bridge. The canals. The Colorado River. The houses along the water. The open lots, palm trees and all that green stretching toward the coast.
A lot can change over the years—new homes get built, businesses come and go, and familiar places start looking a little different.
But there's something about Matagorda that stays Matagorda.
Maybe it's heading across the bridge knowing the beach is just down the road. Maybe it's seeing a boat sitting in somebody's driveway and wondering if they're headed fishing tomorrow morning. Maybe it's simply remembering a time when you were here with people you'll never forget.
That's what I love about old pictures like these.
They don't just show you what a place looked like.
They remind you what life felt like when you were there.
What do you remember about Matagorda around 2017?
Drop your memories in the comments. I'd really like to hear them.
