Day 7 of Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week: When i was pregnant with my son, some women would walk up to me to touch my belly. I would hurriedly cover with my hand over the area where my colostomy was at because it made me feel so uncomfortable. But the blessing that was growing inside of me was truly God send.

The day I gave birth to my son. The doctor had to perform a C-section to retrieve him. When I heard my son cry, I begin crying as well. It was an emotional experience.

It was by the grace of God in raising my son as a single parent, dealing with Crohn's Disease, an colostomy bag, doctors appointments, and working a full time job that I am here to tell my story. On Dec. 9th, my son will be 26 years old and I thank God everyday for a wonderful blessing.
