AN UPDATE TO OUR EMBROIDERY SERVICES 🧵
After a little time away from our embroidery machine while it has been out for service, we’ve had the opportunity to really evaluate just how much time and energy goes into standing at the machine and completing outside embroidery orders.
We’ve now offered embroidery to our community for a little over a year and a half - long enough to learn what works well for us, what doesn’t, and where we want this part of Katie J’s to go next.
Going forward, we will no longer accept outside items for embroidery. This means personal items such as shirts, polos, blankets, bags, hats, etc. will no longer be able to be brought into the store to have embroidered.
When we first added embroidery, our long-term vision was always to primarily personalize items we already sell at Katie J’s, along with offering fun embroidered shirts, hats and seasonal designs throughout the year. We knew that in order to get our embroidery services up and running, accepting outside work was an important part of getting started - and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who trusted us with their items!
After a year and a half, we feel we’ve reached the point where focusing our embroidery services on merchandise purchased through Katie J’s is the best direction for our business.
And we’re excited about what that means! In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be working to grow our selection of embroidery blanks so you’ll have a wonderful variety of items available right here at Katie J’s to personalize with names, monograms and designs. We’ll also be able to spend more time creating new seasonal embroidered pieces and bringing fresh ideas to the store!
✨ IMPORTANT: If you already have an embroidery order with us, don’t worry! We will be completing ALL currently placed orders. If you’ve dropped off polos, blankets, shirts or other personal items with us over the last few weeks, we fully intend to complete those orders once our machine returns from service this week. This change applies to new outside orders going forward.
Business is always evolving, and sometimes that means taking what you’ve learned and adjusting along the way. We truly feel this transition will allow us to make our embroidery department better, more creative and more sustainable for Katie J’s moving forward.
Thank you for your understanding, your continued support, and for allowing our little embroidery department to grow so much over the last year and a half. We’re excited for what’s next! 🤍
