Our Story
Hamilton Township Police Activities League is entering its 24th year of serving the children of this community. Twenty four years ago, Lt. Brian P. Cavanaugh, who was a Patrol Officer at the time, initiated the PAL program. He decided that it would be better to meet our area children on the playing court instead of in the juvenile court. As a result, the Hamilton Township Police Activities League was born. Today, with the help of loyal volunteers we have a variety of programs such as chess, basketball, bowling, yoga, and the dance program.
The PAL dance program ranges in age from 4 to 18 and consists of approximately 200+ dancers disbursed among 18 classes, meeting once a week for instruction in either, tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern dance or baton twirling. Registration is held in October with a fee of $65.00 per dancer. The program runs from January through May/June. Dancers will be performing to a sold-out crowd, displaying the culmination of their hard work and dedication throughout the dance session at their annual Dance recital in June. The recital will be held at the Hess School Complex, Mays Landing, New Jersey. The dance program raises money for costumes, t-shirts, music, props, celebratory banquet, awards and senior scholarship.
The dance program would not exist if it wasnβt for the countless hours of our many volunteers. The PAL Dance Coordinators and PAL Board Members canβt thank our current and past dance instructors and dance assistants enough for their dedication to our dancers and dance program β THANK YOU!!
