Happy 8️⃣th Birthday🎂 to Whiskey Stitch Co. (April 10th)… and what a dang way to celebrate, WITH A STOREFRONT!!!!! 🔑🛍️
Like… a real one. With keys. And doors. And windows. And everything. 🥹
When I tell you I haven’t been this SCARED and this ECSTATIC at the exact same time… since childbirth… I mean it. The excitement, the nerves, the “what in the world did I just do” moments… all happening in the same breath.

But here’s the thing, this didn’t happen because of me alone. YOU got me here. Your support, your orders, your trust in my work… and the fact that so many of you (literally across the country) keep coming back and cheering me on. I’ll never be able to fully explain how much that means.

And my AMAZINGGG Husband… the man who has pulled sequins out of places sequins should never be, the one who picks me up when I’m convinced I’m failing, and the one who celebrates my wins bigger than anyone else.

And my Sweet Girl, who has basically been raised in my offices (this will be number 6, AND LAST I HOPE 😅). At this point she probably thinks loud embroidery machines, glitter, and boxes everywhere is just how normal people live.

From the bottom of my heart- THANK YOU. For believing in this little business and helping it grow into something I once only dreamed about.
Now let’s celebrate a little… because Whiskey Stitch Co. just got itself a storefront. 🎉

If you were here a few days ago, you probably caught my story featuring the engineering masterpiece made of boxes, clips, and a trash can…all in the name of holding these saddle pads steady on the machine… [for a flawless stitch out, I might add 😮‍💨]
But if you listened closely, you could probably hear me sweating through your screen.
Nervous. Questioning. “What if I fail?!”
The words “YEAH! I’ll do that!” flew out of my mouth before my brain had time to process what I’d just committed to. And honestly-sometimes it’s a blessing that my mouth moves faster than my self-doubt. [Note the word sometimes 🤪]
Because once the panic settles and the machine starts humming, something in me switches. If you know me, you know defeat doesn’t have a place in my line of work. If it CAN be done, I’m going to figure out how to get it done- one wild setup and deep breath at a time.
The compliments that came back on these pads? Equal parts humbling and motivating.
To most, they may just look like parade saddle pads… but to the riders receiving them, they’re part of a moment they’ll remember forever. And getting to stitch a small piece of that story together? That’s the good stuff.
Around here I don’t back down from a challenge… I just build a bigger contraption and get to work 💁🏼‍♀️🩷

Y’all it’s been a week! Almost two, actually!
I’m gonna get real on ya for a sec… and explain delayed emails/texts/mssgs. My family fell apart. Emergency surgery, complications, fevers, infections… it allll happened. I’ve been outta work, stressed, fell behind, fell apart, you name it. Tonight I walked in and out of my office multiple times, feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work that’s piled up and the lack of desire to do it. So I figured I’d add to that overwhelm and do a project for ME to shake that slump. Bring back my sparkle and get back at it. I LOVE my job!! Like I really, genuinely LOVE it. But sometimes it can be tough. Choosing fabrics that flow is challenging. Making the design in my head come to life- well that just a whole nother topic. But after [finally] settling on materials- HERE HE IS!

I’d love to say I took New Year’s Day off, avoided all the superstitions, ate my greens and black-eyed peas, and relaxed…
But I did not.
I did laundry.
I skipped the peas.
And I worked on a large hat order and strawberry designs instead. 🫠
Now let me swerve for just a second…
When you get the official “OK, you’re moving”, the emotions hit fast. You’re not moving a few streets over or even a county away- you’re moving two time zones away. A million thoughts run through your head… and yes, one of mine was:
✨ I will never have to design another strawberry thing again. ✨
PURE. BLISS.
Some folks might think that would make me sad, but if you know, you KNOW how the Strawberry rat race goes. Same designs. Same town. Same thing sold by 159 people, all racing to the bottom on price. Hard pass. But y’all weren’t about to let me off that easy. And honestly… that tracks. 😆
So back to yesterday.. I worked on my first strawberry design since the move, because I had requests rolling in before Christmas. (And yes, when I read those texts, I would absolutely black out for a moment.)
Between holiday chaos and sheer exhaustion, I truly didn’t think I had it in me to design something new for some of my favorite people… on my least favorite topic.
But here we are.
This is the first- and it won’t be the last. It’s different than my usual sparkly style, and I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of sweet tea… but y’all, I’ll be honest, it’s rare that I genuinely love a design I make (I know, weird). But I really, truly love this one.
A few tweaks coming (that bow is too light! I see it 👀), but I think we’re off to a real good start.
Strawberries again… but make it Whiskey Stitch💁🏼‍♀️🍓✨

Whew! 2025… where do I even begin? Baby, we have BEEN. THROUGH. IT.

• Kicked off the year surviving a 🏈Super Bowl season with record January sales! Thank y’all BIG 🫶🏼
• Celebrated 7 years in business and then barely survived 🍓Strawberry season. (Shoutout to Brett, SWAT medic, and Rachel for responding to my fall out, after I ignored self-care and overworked myself 🫠 Go me.)
• Also celebrated a record LOW sales month (hi, May 👋🏼)… but that came with the most exciting news for both my business and our family👇🏼
• May 28th, TJ loaded up the Jeep with our valuables and our sick puppy (fresh off a nasty surgical infection) and drove cross-country to our NEW HOME
• June 5th, Austyn and I boarded our one-way flight HOME… 🥔IDA-HOME ✈️ (but not before SeaWorld, a trip to Estero, a pedicure, and absolutely wrecking Mrs. Rachel’s life for 6 days 😘)
• July hit me right in the feelings. Starting my business over from scratch? 🤯PANIC. Marketing myself outside my comfort zone? 🤯🤯DOUBLE PANIC. But God always shows up; usually right after a mental breakdown, and this time was no different 😅 I didn’t miss Florida… I missed normal. Thank the Lord for a husband who knows how to talk me off the ledge and faith that carries me through.
• Fast-forward ⏩ to fall🍂 September = second record-high month (thank y’all again!). Homeschool routines tried to come back… and then promptly got bulldozed by holiday chaos, rush orders, cereal dinners, and frozen pizza. Some things never change.
•And now here we are… starting January 2026 with a sore throat and ear pain because ✨balance✨ 😁
Running a small business is not for the faint of heart. It isn’t built in a day- it’s built every single day I show up.
•Thank you to my customers, my friends, my family… and those customers who became friends and then family. Your support, ideas, patience, and trust keep this business alive. I may be the one behind the machines, but this business is built on ALL of us. ❤️
