Get ready for my June brides and all their beauty 😍

First up, I have Hayley I don’t think her smile and joy could have been any bigger. She was so ecstatic for her wedding day…FINALLY!! I am so so glad she came in and loved everything about her dress! I have altered many of Hayley’s items but this was the MOST important one. She said, I quote: “I felt like the prettiest princess at the ball, especially when he twirled me, and I felt the dress flow! I've said it before, and ill say it 1000xs more. You do GREAT work and you always make me feel so comfortable and confident in the way you make the dress fit perfectly 💕” 🩷🥹

Hayley wore an ivory, A-line, halter neck wedding gown with illusion mesh bodice, covered in all over lace. A flowy tulle skirt with lace detail and covered buttons at her back. She needed the halter straps adjusted at the top and low back, hemming and a 3pt bustle was added.

Her son needed his suit taken in ALOT! His pants and vest were both altered. Additionally, Hayley’s 3 bridesmaids (I think I’m missing one), Mother and grandma all had their alterations done. What a blast it was to have everyone together to share laughter from stories and joy for this beautiful bride.

Day 1: WE MADE IT! It’s the final count down…do do doooo doo, do do do do dooo 🎵

Carrie holds the spot for my final May bride. She wanted boho, long, and flowy vibes for her matcha green and floral gown. Her sleeves were originally elastic at the bottom and poofy. I removed the elastic to make them flutter sleeves. I added darts to her back, adjusted her shoulders, removed the corset panel and she was so ecstatic 🤩
No shoes, no problem. Carrie walked down the aisle in the best way possible…barefoot and loving life 🩷

Congrats Carrie on your beautiful wedding day! I hope you had a blast 💥

Day 2: As promised, this is my “special wedding gift” post. Tomorrow will be my final and 12th (yes, you read that right) May Bride 🤩

This post is dedicated to two amazing women who gifted the bride in their life with very special items that the each bride could use on their wedding day.

#1 Katie gifted her sister a satin robe using pieces from her mom’s wedding gown. I chopped the train and used that material for the sleeves and collar of the robe. I used petals to make cute details on the pocket and the rosette piece on her robe tie was detachable. This dress will be used for another future project in October 😉

#2 (I forgot to take a before picture 😫) Colette if you’re out there and have a before pic, I know others would love to see. Colette had asked that I use her wedding gown to make a few items for her granddaughter. When she saw the pieces she was so excited, she couldn’t wait for the Bridal Shower and gave them to her early 🩷 For Colette’s projects I used a ready made robe and remade the sleeves and collar, I added a ruffle to the bottom and trim to the pockets. I also made a drawstring makeup bag and a couple hankies.

Such sweet gifts for such special brides! 🥰

Day 3: No two dresses are the same and some just need a little extra love and attention to be perfect.

Elizabeth brought her dress in and immediately said “chop the train” ✅ gurl…I got you 😂 She had no interest fusing with a bustle. Originally, we were looking for more coverage with this dress to hide undergarments. My first thought was build the back up, add a button closure. We weren’t in love with that idea and nixed the plain back closure also. It just didn’t want to lay right and I always want to ensure that my brides walk down the aisle with confidence, loving every element of their gown. In the end Elizabeth loved her “v” cut back and so I ended up attaching her under garments directly to her dress. I lowered the “v” to give her more wiggle room, left the back open and cut away any excess. Additionally, darts were added to her back, her dress was hemmed and a privacy panel was added to the front. Elizabeth sent over an IRL pic of her wedding day 😍 She is so beautiful! AND pics from her honeymoon🏖️ (because this girl knows how to plan a vacation)…swooon, that sunrise 🩷

Congrats Elizabeth! I absolutely love you as a client and your bubbly spirit always makes me smile. 🎉

Day 4: This poor women…Erica came in to try on her dress and it was SO big on her she had to hold it up for her first fitting/consultation. 😣I’m talking like 8 inches too big in the top and 10-12 in the skirt 😓 This transformation was life changing. The material was thick and the construction was so well put together I could not pin the dress, but I worked my measuring magic to make her dress ready for her second fit…and what do you know at her second fit she didn’t have to hold it up at all 😉🎉It was the best feeling to see her smile and excitement.

Erica wore a fit and flare ivory gown with gathered detail on the bodice and skirt. Peek-a-boo lace detail adorned her bust. Additionally, she had stunning off shoulder long lace sleeves and a show stopping detailed back. First things first, I had to take in several seams on the Bodice (removal of zipper and buttons, take in sides, back and side back seams to even out the amount that had to come in. I had to re-design the armsyce, bust points and back piece to keep the cohesiveness of her dress. Erica also needed her sleeves shortened and taken in.
I continued taking in her skirt several inches. Lastly, her dress layers were hemmed and tapered to her train, with the finishing touch of a 1 pt bustle. The dream dress she imagined finally felt like her very own 🩷

In addition to Erica, her mom, MOG and sister stopped in to have their alterations done as well. Erica and her fiancé were married at Crystal Fountain Park (see the shared post below for IRL pics of their wedding day)

Erica, you are such a stunning bride and I am so glad I was able to make your dreams come true! Congrats!

So excited to share the deets on my next beautiful bride! 😍
