There are some people you feel like you’ve known forever before you ever meet them in person.

Today I finally got to meet the author himself, Eli Waters!!!!

My homeboy Eli and his amazing family came by to hang out with me today, and it was every bit as fun as I hoped. One of the best parts of what I get to do is watching friendships that started through books turn into real-life moments like this.

I absolutely loved her in Champions, so it was really cool getting to meet her in person. She was every bit as kind as she is talented.

Got to see one of my favorite people, Matt, stop by the booth today! Seeing him sporting his Kelly & Kelso gear was already enough to make my day, but getting to catch up made it even better.

Just met one of the coolest dudes with one of the coolest names… Dashell Meier. I mean, come on, if your name is Dashell, you’re pretty much required to do something awesome.

He’s starring in the upcoming film 21 Down, telling the incredible true story of Caden Cox, a young man from Ohio who made history as a college football kicker.

Getting to meet people like Dashell is one of my favorite parts of this conference. Every conversation reminds me that the world gets a whole lot better when people are given the chance to show what they’re capable of. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this, never bet against someone with heart… especially if they’re named Dashell.

Day two of the National Down Syndrome Congress Conference in Orlando, and we’re off to a great start.

One of my favorite things about this conference is that it reminds you how much good there is in the world. Everywhere you look, there are people cheering each other on, swapping stories, celebrating victories big and small, and believing in what someone else is building.

It’s hard to leave a place like this without your hope tank getting topped off.

Looking forward to another great day, a lot of laughs, and probably meeting a few new best friends along the way.
