Hasbro acquired Romper Room Inc in 1969, and Weebles became a part of that legacy. Weebles were actually modeled after Romper Room’s Punching Clown--remember this? You could punch it, and it would tip over and then pop back up. It never fell down, just like the Weebles! You remember their famous mantra, “Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down!” The first Weebles were fatter and had lithos that easily scraped off. But within a year, the company improved the design with “peel proof weebles.”

Tumblin’ Weebles came out in 1978. The weight inside the toy was free to fall into the larger head so that when placed on an inclined surface, they would somersault down the ramp. Below is a photo of the Fun House we have for sale online. Also, we found a retro video advertising this popular toy of the late 1970s. Enjoy this trip down Memory Lane! Check out FB Market Place if you want to have this toy in your collection.

DECADES also has the Liddle Kiddle Ranch House for sale. This came out around 1966–1967, when Liddle Kiddles had become popular. It reflected the strong Western/cowboy craze in American pop culture (TV shows, movies, toys). Their main audience were young children, especially girls, but with the Western theme, the audience could be extended. The ranch house also comes with one Liddle Kiddle doll, and is ready for play!

At the time, Mattel was competing heavily with other toy makers by creating highly detailed miniature worlds. The Kiddles line stood out because of its extremely small scale dolls, their scented dolls, and creative themed environments (ranch, school, town, etc.) It helped expand the Kiddles brand beyond dolls into interactive storytelling playsets--like this ranch (shown below). It also showed Mattel's innovative style by bringing portable "world-in-a-box" toys to the market. Today, it’s considered a vintage collectible, especially among 1960s toy enthusiasts.

If you are a Liddle Kiddles fan, check out the listing on FB MarketPlace (under JoAnn Hudak).

If you had Liddle Kiddles growing up, you might be interested in an item we have for sale -- the Liddle Kiddle Klubhouse (shown below). It was made by Mattel for their Liddle Kiddle dolls. The original first twenty-four Mattel Liddle Kiddles dolls were released in 1966. They were 2 1/2 to 3 1/2″ tall with special "iddle" character names. They were designed to resemble children in neighborhoods across America. Most dolls had a yellow, pink, blue or white plastic comb and brush. These dolls were made of vinyl with a bendable, wired and posable body. It was joined at the neck with rooted hair and painted facial features.

The dolls needed a place to "live" so Mattel created a Klubhouse for them. The date on the house says 1965, but it was released by Mattel in 1967. This ad is most like from Kresge / early Kmart around 1967 when the toy first came onto the market. It originally sold for $2.88! Today, these houses in good condition are valued at $70 or more.

If you want to learn more about these dolls and their klubhouse, or you want to go down Memory Lane, click on the video link that shows the klubhouse and the dolls that were sold during that era. Enjoy your journey!
