After they've had a very long rest, I decided to bring my "Memphis." Men's line created over 10 years ago to the Memphis Farmers Market last week and no one was more surprised than me that I almost sold out. Wow!! Complete restock for this Saturday with a few extra to make sure we can offer a beautiful array of styles and finishes for anyone interested. Incidentally, it was equally embraced by men, women, children and folks even older then me!

Years and years ago we discovered that there are age old symbolic meanings, stories, and folk lore about flower and leaf species.
As my line progressed and gained momentum, it became clear that as a solid gift category item, we needed to include a card to let the receiver of my jewelry know the story behind their new flower/leaf/herb piece, and it became one of the main selling points of the line.

I wish there was a way to categorize the groups by meaning and symbolism, but that would be an overwhelming project considering how large the collection is. Wouldn't it be great to say, I'm looking for a gift for my daughter who is graduating from college, and we could say, here, this flower denotes accomplishment or being proud of someone. The meanings actually are sometimes as detailed as that, but I don't have the data categorization skills that would help me figure out a way to present the pieces that way. (volunteers??)

I remember a time when "words" in giftware were the height of popularity. The rest of us vendors would watch in awe when the smart ones who sold candles, necklaces, mugs, magnets, etc... with the word "hope" "gratitude" "love", you name it, were selling hand over fist. And it went on for years!!!
That's when I realized that we were already providing a product like that, but with a "pretty factor" as well, so we felt like we had to ADVERTISE the fact that we have that going on. Which is how this ad came about. My ultra talented graphic designer, Tiffany Lambert, created it and to this day it is still one of my favorite ads. There was more to it but this is the best part.
