Pro tip: DRAINAGE IS KEY

Here’s the thing, lots of pots come without drainage. Why? We truly have no idea. First, we will list some options for pots that don’t have drainage, and secondly we will tell you why drainage is so important.

Option 1: Keep your plant in its nursery pot. All nursery pots have drainage holes! Just make sure that if you place it in a cache pot with no drainage, take it out to be watered and let it thoroughly drain before placing it back into the pot.

Option 2: Let us put a drainage hole in any ceramic pot you love! Whether it’s from us or somewhere else, we are able to put drainage in pretty much any pot that comes without it. We do this for a small fee of $3.00 ! This allows you to fully repot the plant into the pot you love!

We won’t tell you not to, but we do highly recommend these options over putting pebbles at the bottom of your pot. Unfortunately most times, pebbles do not evaporate the water quickly enough, if at all, which can lead to our next point: ROOT ROT.

Why plants need drainage:

Root rot is one of the biggest killers of your house plants! Root rot typically happens when plants are receiving water too frequently or are holding too much water for too long due to no drainage or too dense of soil.

JOIN US THIS COMING SATURDAY, AUGUST 10TH, FOR YOGA IN THE GREENHOUSE!

Yoga Nidra is a meditative experience where you will be in a comfortable laying down position as the facilitator guides you through a prolonged body scan and visualization. This practice is an entry point into experiencing your body and all the energy that is contained within. Practitioners often report feeling like they were floating or were able to drop out of the mind and into the body. But every experience is valid and welcome! The guide will hold a container for you to hear and connect with your own inner guide. You will be led to set an intention that can sprout into your waking life. Sounds of Tibetan and crystal bowls will be playing to help support a deep and restful experience. There is no actual asana in yoga nidra, so come dressed comfortably (you don’t need yoga clothes!).

1.WAREHOUSE SALE-we have some great things leftover from Golden Hour days (R.I.P) that we would like to get rid of. This is great if you are looking to purchase candle jars, wicks, affordable jewelry, shelving, storage, etc. Tell your small business friends!!

2.STOREFRONT SALE-we will be hosting our last sale of the summer with 30% off all merchandise-excluding plants and pots. This is a great time to buy retail we may not have in-store again or start prepping for back to school gifts and holiday season!
