Un-Armed Security Officer Training
Greetings,
Information regarding the 4-hour un-armed guard services training class can be found below, if you would like to attend the training session please advise at least a week in advance so that a date can be established to accommodate the training session.
Unarmed Security Guard Class
Unarmed tuition is $70.00 (4-hour class)
License Renewal $40.00 (2- hour class) every two years

Training Requirements
Training includes an examination covering subjects in which the individual must have training. All candidates must complete a four hour basic course including one (1) hour each of:
Orientation.
Legal powers and limitations of a security guard/officer.
Emergency procedures.
General duties.
Classes provided both in person or virtually

Students must be 18 years old to become an unarmed guard.
Student will need to submit a Photo (PASSPORT STYLE)
Completion form provided by Training Instructor.
Training Instructor will ensure that all training materials are provided.

· Basic duties of a security officer
· Arrests
· Report writing
· Basic first aid
· Emergency response
Your next step to get the license:
1. Gather your documents.
Digital proof of training provided by the training instructor (emailed to you).
Digital Fingerprint Receipt. Fingerprints – Refer to instructions for electronic fingerprinting.
DD214 form if you have ever been in the military.
Court Clerk certified final disposition of any arrests.
Proof of Citizenship documents if you immigrated to the United States (such as a Green Card).
2. Upload all documents to the new online Tennessee Private Protective Services portal https://core.tn.gov You must have an e-mail address to register for the State’s new portal and a credit or debit card to pay your state fee.
3. Pay the state fees:
Unarmed Guard License Fee ($70.00)
Digital Fingerprint Fee ($35.15)
