Join us at the Stax Museum on Thursday, Oct. 22, for the opening of "AIN’T I CLEAN: Lansky Bros. & the Look of Memphis Music"! In partnership with Lansky 126, this new exhibit celebrates the connection between fashion, music, and the artists who helped shape the Memphis Sound.

Founded on Beale Street in 1946, Lansky Bros. built relationships with Memphis’ Black community at a time when the city was deeply segregated, welcoming Black customers and employing Black salesmen. The store became an important part of the city’s music community, outfitting artists including Rufus Thomas, Isaac Hayes, David Porter, B.B. King, Al Green, and Elvis Presley, whose styles helped bring Memphis music to audiences around the world.
