Jay here, owner of HME by Jay. Many of you know me, but for those who don't, I'm a proud girl dad to three brilliant and powerful young women. My youngest, Avery, is 10, and one of our daily rituals is me reminding her of her incredible intelligence, strength, and worth.

We have real talks about how the world, especially European influencers, doesn't get to define her beauty or her value. As a Black father, I see how the world often overlooks the need to affirm Black women and girls. Sometimes, that one word of encouragement is the momentum needed to conquer the day.
