-SHOP MAIN STREET MEREDITH-
It took a little longer than expected but The Shops On Main Street Meredith finally got our Christmas Tree up and decorated. The tree is located between in the park between Frog Rock Tavern and White Birch Gifts. Thank you Full Circle Vinyl, White Birch Gifts, Lake Effect LLC, Art Of Turning, Skål, The Galleries At 30 Main, Meredith Inn B&B, 55 Main St of Meredith, NH, Shop Main Street Meredith NH, Greater Meredith Program and everyone else involved with coordinating, erecting, and decorating the tree! A big thanks to Cackleberries Garden & Gift Shop for donating this beautiful tree and thanks to Aubuchons in Meredith for donating the Christmas lights.

There are still 10 days until Christmas and lots of great gift ideas on Main Street in Meredith. Even if you can’t get here, most of these businesses have gifts available online as well. And if money is an issue, you can always support these businesses by giving them a like or a follow to their FB pages. Thank you kindly to everyone who supports us all on Main Street! Please shop local!

In honor of Officer Bart Merrill, his family has made the decision to carry on his legacy and continue to sub-campaign for Tots for Tots! Just like Officer Merrill, his family is committed to making sure that every single child in the area has a magical and special holiday season. 🎄🌟

As many of you might remember, we decided to donate proceeds from our Bike Week t-shirt sales to Tots for Tots in memory of Officer Merrill. We are thrilled to announce that a $2,000 donation will be made by Meredith Police Association, along with your help, to the Toys for Tots campaign in Officer Merrill’s honor. ❤️💚

Our lobby is open from 8:00am-12:00am every day. Please feel free to drop off a donation. 🧸🎁

Our Story

Hi! I'm Michaela Copeland - founder, owner and sole employee of Lake Effect! In 2012 my husband, Chris and I vacationed in Meredith, NH and fell in love with the area and the lake. After spending 2 years looking for our vacation home we made our purchase. Our agreement, when we bought our home, was that we had to spend 2 weekends a month in Meredith. Well, after our first year, and only having missed 2 weekends, we decided to make a big change. I gave up my job, we sold our custom built dream home, and moved to our lake house to live a simpler life - and haven't regretted it for one second!

In 2016 when I realized that my shopping options were somewhat limited in the area, I decided to open my own shop. This was big change from my prior experience, but I was looking for a challenge and a way to meet new people. After doing a lot of research, the idea for Lake Effect was born. Lake Effect opened its first storefront at 23 Main St. in Meredith on July 11, 2016.

When I chose the location for the shop my choices were limited. Knowing that my ideal location may become available in a couple of years, I decided to be patient; but then it happened. The current occupant at 51 Main St was looking to retire and although the space would need a lot of work, the timing was perfect.

In June 2018 Lake Effect moved up the street to 51 Main St where it now resides. This new location offered everything a growing store needed - great visibility, more space and storage. After spending a month renovating the space, with help from our friends and customers, we re-opened on June 28, 2018.
