El Cortez Hotel, Las Vegas Nevada!  Home of the Buccaneer Bar and the 14 oz charcoal broiled steak for $1.95!  This place opened in 1941 and is still open, though I’d assume their prices have gone up just slightly. 🥩

I love this one so much! 💚🤍 First, it brings me great satisfaction when my soda likes me, because I’ve always liked it back (except Starry, which I reject on principle).  I also connected with the “For Hospital or Home Use” tag line which sounds silly in modern times, but as a kid that’s what my mom used to give me for tummy aches and I’m not questioning mom’s magic. 🩺

Cheers to the class of ’40!  I am not sure if this matchbook was for high school or college, but either way World War 2 was going on and the U.S. would be joining the war in December 1941! 🎓🌍💥
