My last client of the night tonight had a genius idea! 🤩🤩🤩 She called me several months ago for a quote on gown preservation as well as to pre book an appointment for after her wedding. Before we ever begin the preservation process, we take time to carefully look over your gown — because every dress has a story, and every detail matters. 🤍

Here’s what we’re looking for during your initial gown inspection:

✨ Oxidation
Some stains are easy to see, but others are quietly hiding in the fabric. Over time, invisible stains from body oils, sweat, perfume, champagne, or even sugar can oxidize and turn yellow or brown. Catching these early is a big part of protecting your gown for the future.

✨ Stains
From makeup around the neckline to dirt along the hem, we inspect your gown for visible staining so we can talk through the best cleaning approach before preservation. Every mark tells us something about where your gown has been and how to care for it properly.

✨ Tears
We look closely for small tears, pulls, or weak spots in the fabric — especially along delicate lace, tulle, seams, and bustling points. Even tiny damage can become worse over time if it isn’t noticed and handled with care.

✨ Visible Damage
Loose beading, missing buttons, broken hooks, stretched straps, snagged lace, or damaged zippers are all things we check for during our initial review. These little details matter when it comes to preserving the beauty and structure of your gown.

What goes into your gown cleaning & preservation?

Personal consultation:
We start by sitting down together to talk through any concerns you have about your gown or the process.

Professional cleaning:
Your gown is sent to our trusted partner cleaner, where it is carefully dry cleaned and, if needed, wet cleaned.

Expert preservation:
Once cleaned, your gown returns to us for preservation using acid-free archival tissue, muslin, and a polypropylene box.

The result:
A gown that stays clean, fresh, and beautifully preserved for generations to come!
