🧵✨ A little more progress on this T-Shirt Quilt!

Now that the quilt top is DONE, it’s time for the next step!

I’ll be sandwiching all three layers together:
🩶 The finished T-shirt quilt top
🧵 Batting for that cozy layer
🤍 Backing fabric

Once everything is layered, smoothed and secured, it’ll be ready for machine quilting! Then comes the finishing touch—adding the binding around the edges. 🪡✨

There’s still some work ahead, but I absolutely LOVE watching all of these special shirts turn into one beautiful, usable keepsake. ❤️

🪶 Introducing BAWAAJIGAN 🪶

For a long time, I have felt something pulling at my heart.

I am Native American through my father’s side and of German descent through my mother’s side. I am from the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Although I was raised outside of our Native lands, I have always felt a deep connection to my Native heritage. There has always been a part of me wanting to reconnect, learn more, and express the culture that lives within me.

And then came the dreams.

I began having dreams about creating an Indigenous clothing and accessories line—something that would allow me to bring together my love of sewing and creating with my connection to my Native heritage.

Those dreams are becoming a vision.

✨ BAWAAJIGAN ✨

A name connected to dreaming and having a vision—and that is exactly how this journey began.

Bawaajigan will begin with ribbon skirts and other regalia, with each piece created intentionally and with respect for the culture and traditions behind it.

This is more than another clothing line for me.

It is a journey of reconnection.
A journey of learning.
A journey of creating.
And a dream that has been calling me home. 🪶❤️

I’m excited—and humbled—to see where this vision leads.

🧸💕 A Memory Bear unlike any I’ve made before…

Today, I did something I’ve never done with a Memory Bear.

This very special bear was created in memory of a precious baby, and I weighted the bear to match the baby’s exact birth weight. 🕊️

There is something incredibly meaningful about being able to hold a bear that carries not only pieces of a memory, but also the familiar weight of that little one.

I’m deeply grateful to be trusted with something so personal and precious. Every stitch was made with extra love and care. 💕

💕 This is a very special Memory Bear.

I had the honor of making this bear for a former employee who became a very good friend. She recently lost her Great Grandmother, someone she shared an incredibly close and special bond with.

Creating Memory Bears like this is so much more than sewing pieces of fabric together. Each piece holds memories, love, and a connection to someone who meant so much. ❤️

I hope this bear brings her comfort whenever she holds it and reminds her that the love and memories she shared with her Great Grandmother will always be with her.

Watching Project Runway while I sew this bear shut 🐻

My least favorite part of making a Memory Bear… closing up the back! 🧸🪡

Once the bear is stuffed, the final opening has to be closed completely by hand using a ladder stitch. Stitch by stitch, I carefully pull the opening closed so the seam nearly disappears.

It may not be my favorite step, but there’s something pretty special about that final stitch—because it means another Memory Bear is officially complete and ready to go home. ❤️

I started a new T-shirt quilt today, and all 30 blocks are prepped and ready to be sewn together! ✂️🪡

This is one of my favorite parts—taking a collection of special shirts and watching them slowly turn into one beautiful quilt filled with memories. ❤️

Next step… time to start sewing these blocks together! Stay tuned to watch this quilt come to life, one stitch at a time. 🥰
