I tell my clients that I will help them keep a quilt where it can still be used versus having to put it away, so it does not deteriorate further. This is usually just a functional repair, but it does allow them to continue enjoying a special quilt.

Quilt finishing is one of the services that I offer.

This can be a range of service services, usually including the actual Quilting, part of layering and Quilting a project where someone else has created the top.
Most times when I quilt a project, I also put the binding on for the customer.

Sometimes the project includes finishing the piecing of the top or at least adding a border to give a more finished look and : or stabilize an old quilt top before it is quilted.

Creating a usable keepsake out of all those favorite shirts or other garments!

Examples of T-shirt, quilts from recent months and a couple go back further. They are a bit more unique, such as the one that was made with baby clothes.

Each quilt is custom designed with the clients preference and input. Pricing is based on the number of garments include included in the Quilt.

Come to join us tomorrow evening at Joe Willy’s in Rockwall for a fundraiser for the quilting group that started earlier this year: we provide Quilts of Valor in the area.

The Heart for Patriots group gathers once a month in Rowlett and has already at least a DOZEN quilt tops - and awarded 5 quilts in the area : see examples in comments

In addition to restaurant proceeds we will have a raffle and also have Donation jars on each of the restaurant tables. And of course, stop by the info table to learn more about our group.

Ever wondered what a “roll of batting” is…. Here ya go: 25 yard roll… this is probably the 4 th or 5th I have bought in recent years !!!
This roll is for Quilts of Valor / we have a group that meets monthly to work on Quilts of Valor.

And if I start counting up all the quilts in have done in the last decade ; I probably would have used at least FIFTEEN or more of these …and more than half of those would have been just for Quilts of Valor !!!

If you want to help $ with Quilts of Valor but don’t know how : find a group that needs a roll of batting - it will be such a blessing !

And - if you’re curious about the “quilted looking jacket “ - yep - your eyes are right - it’s quilted ; and yes I made it !

Good morning just wanted to share this post regarding our monthly sit and so for Quilts of Valor. The next one will be November 12. We also expect that our next award of a quilted dollar will be November 11 at the City Council in Rowlett.
