After witnessing the unraveling of the apparel manufacturing industry in Miami and society’s demand on nature exposed by the discovery of the ecological footprint, Qiana Armstrong felt the need to do something extraordinary.

Motivated by her passion for fashion and a desire to connect the next generation of designers to the rich heritage of Miami’s apparel manufacturing industry of the yesterday to sustainability, art & design, and innovation in the fashion industry of today. In 2015, Qiana Armstrong decided to launch the fashion 501 (c)(3) Haute Academy, Inc.

Haute Academy is a Miami, FL based youth mentoring, community development, and cultural arts organization dedicated to engaging all communities – especially those in areas of economic distress – to sustainable fashion initiatives that provide opportunities for economic advancement through the fashion industry.

Here at Haute Academy, we are driven by the beliefs of creativity, sustainability, transformation, and self-sufficiency. We see all people as designers of life. Which is why we work to provide empowerment opportunities for realizing potential that creates social and economic reform.
