Introducing "The Smart Hybrid" also known as "Sketches" wheel concept Targeting the Y generation (consumers who are adventurous, have strong personalities and enjoy leisure), eMembrane is a Smart Hybrid tire that is able to accommodate both high-performance driving and city driving. The principle is that it changes the ratio of the contact area with the ground according to speed, minimizing the contact area during low-speed driving and maximizing fuel efficiency through the decrease of rolling resistance. It maximizes the contact area during high-speed driving to offer a strong grip that allows high-performance driving, such as high-speed, straight driving, and dynamic cornering.

Introducing the new airless tire concepts entitled (Hankook's iFlex) & (Michelin Uptis). The iFlex is basically an airless tire that is not only light, but also puncture-proof, and made from 95% recyclable materials. Each 155/590 R14 tire is composed of polyurethane synthetics, and the entire unit is fabricated with the rim. How does it work? Well, geometric cells inside the wheel allow the tire to function without the need for air, eliminating the need to check for pressure, fixing flats, while improving fuel economy.
Short for Unique Puncture-Proof Tire System, the (Michelin Uptis) is an integrated airless wheel structure designed for passenger vehicles. The system is being developed in collaboration with GM and promises to eliminate the dangers of flat tires and blowouts while eliminating the need for pressure checks and damage inspections. It would have the environmental benefits of eliminating the 20% of tires that are scrapped each year because of punctures and irregular wear. Research is ongoing, with the goal of having the Uptis on the road by 2024.
