🚀 THE VINTAGE THRIFT CODES: What’s Actually Selling Right Now 🚀The vintage clothing market has completely shifted. Skinny jeans and 1950s rockabilly are out—90s and Y2K streetwear is absolutely dominating the market floor. If you are sourcing to resell or just trying to upgrade your closet, these are the 4 hottest commodities generating massive demand right now:🧵 1. 90s Single-Stitch Graphic TeesLook at the hem and sleeve cuffs! If you see a single row of stitching instead of a modern double row, you’re looking at a prized 90s piece. Collectors are aggressively hunting for authentic 90s band, movie, skate, and surreal art graphics.👖 2. Y2K Baggy & Low-Rise DenimThe silhouette has gone ultra wide. Distressed, faded, and washed ultra-wide leg denim from the early 2000s is clearing out vendors' racks instantly. Brands like JNCO, old-school Levi’s, and Diesel are top tier.🧥 3. Oversized 90s Leather Bomber JacketsThink heavy, relaxed-fit, slouchy outerwear. Lambskin bombers and motorcycle jackets with a naturally worn-in patina are flyaway items. The boxier and more "90s detective" the fit, the faster it sells.⛵ 4. Retro Colorblock WindbreakersNylon track jackets with bold, bright colorblocking are essential casual streetwear staples. Sportswear giants from the 90s rule here—specifically the iconic Tommy Hilfiger Sailing Gear line.💬 Resellers & Thrifters: What's been your biggest vintage flip lately? The history of shiny brite ornaments 🧐
The History and Big BreakPrior to World War II, nearly all glass Christmas ornaments were hand-blown and imported from Germany. In 1937, a German immigrant named Max Eckardt anticipated that the looming war would destroy his importing business. To solve this, he paired up with the Corning Glass Works company in New York. He convinced them to slightly modify their automated glass ribbon machines—which they normally used to mass-produce light bulbs—to pump out clear glass Christmas bulbs instead. Eckardt then took those blank bulbs to his factories in New Jersey, coated the insides with silver nitrate so they would stay "shiny and bright," and decorated the outside.By 1939, they were being mass-marketed through Woolworth’s for just two to ten cents a piece, becoming a massive hit because they were beautiful, affordable, and proudly "American Made".
