WARNING: This is a bit of a lengthy post but I’m sharing personal info which I don’t really ever do on social media.
So, I’ve made it to Ohio and so far I love it here. Right at 2 months. I’ve been making a lot of changes to things business wise and personal. I have not been getting much done lately but have managed to get one custom order almost finished now. I also worked on the FREE PURSE some that is for my GIVEAWAY. Since things have been pretty much non moving since I’ve been relocating I haven’t had a lot of traffic on my page which is ok, for now lol. I noticed I have a little over 200 followers which is half of what my sewing page had. So, to get this ball rolling I have decided to do the GIVEAWAY at 250 followers and hopefully I’ll have gotten her finished by then.
So, why the move from SC? Well, I felt there was nothing for me and I wasn’t getting anywhere with getting back into barrel racing and trying to build my purse line. I now have plenty of space to work and was blessed with a new barrel horse!! My mare fell lame 3 years ago so it’s almost like starting all over again. When I picked up Jolene and got her home I was just amazed at how God puts things in order for us when it’s the right time. I’ve been searching for a horse like my first barrel horse and Jolene fits every box. Solid black color with white on the face and feet, started and ready to finish on the pattern, well bred and GRITTY! Our first ride she dumped me. 😔 Second ride she was too busy looking at shadows since we rode at night to think about dumping me. 😕Third ride she dumped me. 😩That was week one. The weekend was supposed to be us going to a Connie Combs clinic (I highly recommend). But she didn’t like me and I didn’t ride her again until at the clinic. Everything went wrong that could. My new horse hated me, my saddle was lost by UPS and still has yet to turn up and while I was getting things packed and loaded it was pouring rain. She wouldn’t load 😩 my awesome friend Wendy helped me get her loaded. I changed and headed to the clinic even though I was hours behind. The first day we were tired but we got through it. The second day she was sore but we got through it. We borrowed a saddle but it was slightly too big and since I haven’t ran a horse in 3 years my balance was off and I felt like I might fall out of the saddle lol. But I’m very thankful to the girl that was gracious enough to let me borrow it. So we took things slow. She acted like a brat a little and sometimes I messed up and confused her. But I think we learned to trust each other a little that weekend. She didn’t dump me. Didn’t act crazy. She was perfect. She even started being nice to me lol. But this is what I’ve been doing y’all, Trying to get into barrel racing since my horse fell lame. So many mountains I’ve had to climb and heartache I went through. But God was prepping me for Jolene and prepping me for a lot of tough training mentally while getting my business up and running too. So Before when she dumped me 2 seconds into our first ride I would have given up. Now I’m eager to get the ball rolling and go to some races! I feel like I’ve been neglecting my business up until now and now I’m ready to go all in with it too! I have so many new ideas that I can’t wait to bring to life and show you all. Those of you that read this to this point, thank you. It means a lot. It’s not easy starting a business and doing a thousand other things while feeling so drained. I’m almost finished with this custom. I’ll start working on the GIVEAWAY purse in a couple of days and she should be complete. I’ll post her debut and hopefully we’ll have enough followers for a GIVEAWAY. If not, then maybe a small draw if anyone might be interested. So, let’s get my page to 250 followers!
