I had the pleasure of being commissioned by B’nai Israel synagogue in Rockville Md to do a painting for their 100th anniversary Gala. After coming up with a few designs the decided to go with something that represented their beloved arc that is being renovated. The 6th image is what we landed on. You can see the progress, unfortunately I was unable to finish it there. The piece is 4’ x 5’. When completed it will be hanging for all to see. My favorite part of the night was the people who came up to talk about the painting and what it meant to them. ❤️

I had a blast with this rebrand. What goes into something like this you ask? Meeting with the client to get a feel of what they are envisioning. Then the fun design part, designing various comps, many many comps. Once the logo is nailed down color theory comes into play. It’s really fun to see how the logo changes with different colors. During this the client had the great idea of making the window into the flag. After that characters began to be designed. You may not know the name but you definitely know his art, RIP Drew Struzan. His illustration style was an inspiration. I loved how he incorporated different mediums in his work.
