Today’s the day! 🥂

The MRT Readers’ Choice Awards were announced, and I’m so excited to celebrate Bijou being recognized in two categories this year.

Every appointment, walk in, event, referral, review, vote, and person who has walked through my doors has helped me build Bijou into the experience boutique I always wanted it to be.

Being recognized by our community means more than I can say. Thank you for choosing Bijou, trusting me, telling your friends about me, and continuing to show up for this little business of mine.

I’m incredibly proud of what Bijou has become… and we’re nowhere near finished. 💜

Meet Bijoulia — the bejeweled baddie and newest member of the Bijou team.

She’ll be reporting for duty at the Hair Bar, serving hair tinsel, chains, feathers and an unreasonable amount of personality.

Please welcome the newest member of the Bijou team.

She’s gorgeous. She’s committed to the Hair Bar. Her work ethic is questionable, but her hair? Impeccable.

There’s just one tiny problem… she needs a name.

So naturally, I’m outsourcing this very important business decision to you.

I’ll be choosing my favorite name on 8/21/26, and whoever comes up with it gets their choice of a Hair Bar service on me!

She’s already serving looks. Now we just need to give her a name equally fierce!

A little something different for this page, but it felt worth sharing.

I’m done saving things for a more perfect moment.

Burn the candle. Use the things you love. Let them remind you of who you were, where you’ve been, and the people who were there with you.

I’m realizing that enjoying something doesn’t take away from the memory attached to it. Sometimes it brings you right back to it.

Maybe we don’t need to save the good things. Maybe we just need to enjoy them while they’re here.

Hobby Lobby DIY permanent jewelry? Honestly, I have no problem with it. 👀

If you want to make yourself some jewelry and have fun with it, DO IT. I can’t speak to the quality of the metal because, but the product itself isn’t what concerns me.

It’s the advice I’m seeing online.

People are suggesting using a soldering iron to close the jump ring while the jewelry is on your body to make it “permanent.”

Please do not do this.

Soldering irons can reach temperatures from around 350°F to nearly 900°F, and holding a tool producing that kind of heat next to your skin is very different from the equipment and process used for permanent jewelry.

DIY permanent jewelry? Have fun, girl.

But if it hadn’t disappeared, I probably never would’ve made this custom 14k solid gold double ear chain for myself.

I think I accidentally upgraded my entire ear stack.

My sweet client came in asking for a hidden helix she saw on a previous post with a chain drop. The thing about hidden helix piercings is they’re anatomy dependent. So instead of chasing one specific piercing, we focused on the look she loved and designed a curation that worked with her anatomy.
