Water web turquoise from a dealer in New Mexico! This turquoise is called water web because of the ripples or cracks in the pattern, not because it’s associated with any particular mine. It’s a trade name, sometimes called spider web turquoise but if you are in the lapidary business, water web has a softer matrix to distinguish the two. We were able to use Randy Bryant’s lapidary saw this time! I have to be careful with filming in his shop as we don’t want to give away any of his famous trade secrets!

Water web turquoise from a dealer in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Water Web is the trade name that helps distinguish turquoise with that very fine pattern that looks like ripples or cracks. It describes more of the pattern and not a particular mine. It’s softer than the spiderweb turquoise. Doing any lapidary in Randy Bryant’s shop is always a privilege and I have to be careful how I film so I don’t give away lapidary trade secrets!! 😂❤️
