🍁☀️ HELLO, SEPTEMBER! ☀️🍁
It’s September 1st in Northern Michigan… which means it might be sweater weather in the morning, shorts by afternoon, and back to a sweatshirt around the bonfire tonight. 😂
But don’t pack away summer just yet.
There are still warm afternoons, beautiful sunsets, trips to the lake, two-track drives, bonfires and a few more chances to soak up that Northern Michigan sunshine before fall officially takes over. ❤️
September might just be one of the BEST months Up North.

🎃🍂🎄 Okay, Northern Michigan friends, I need your opinion on one of my latest crazy ideas!
You know how we go from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas in what feels like about five minutes? 😂
I've been making these little handmade seasonal pillows and had an idea — a HALLO-THANKS-MAS Pillow Flight!
Three different-sized pillows representing the three seasons, packaged together in a pretty keepsake box so you can pack them away and bring them back out next year.
I'm thinking $45 for the whole flight.
Would you buy something like this? And would you rather pick your three pillows or be surprised with a collection I put together?

🇺🇸 LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN ❤️
One of my favorite Labor Day memories will always be heading to Mackinaw City for the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk.
There was just something so exciting about getting up early, being surrounded by all those people, and WALKING across the Mighty Mac! 🌉
But some of my favorite years were when my dad volunteered to drive one of the shuttle buses, helping get people back and forth across the bridge. That made the whole weekend even more special to me. ❤️
To this day, I LOVE Mackinaw City and I love Labor Day weekend in Northern Michigan. There are some traditions that just stick with you forever.
And if you're headed to Mackinaw City this weekend, make a stop at Teysen's Gift Shop! It's one of my favorites, especially if you're looking for Bridge Walk patches, souvenirs, memorabilia, or a little something to remember your Labor Day adventure.
Now I want to know…

🎃 Halloween in Ocqueoc… what a memory. 🎃
One of my absolute favorite things to do as a kid in Ocqueoc was trick-or-treating.
My mom would load us up and drive us all over the neighborhood, from house to house. And, of course, Halloween night in Northern Michigan was almost ALWAYS notoriously crappy. 😂❄️
Mom would have to modify our costumes for the weather. Coats had to go on, and I can still remember having plastic bags over the feet of our costumes to keep them dry because, for whatever reason, it always seemed like it was snowing on Halloween night! 😂
But we didn't care.
We knew everybody. We knew exactly which houses to go to. And you better believe we knew which houses gave out the BEST treats. 🍫🍬
Looking back now, what a wonderful memory. ❤️
If you grew up around Ocqueoc, what do you remember about Halloween? And be honest… did you know where all the “good candy” houses were too? 😂🎃

🎃 Okay, Northern Michigan friends… WITCH PLEASE! 😂
Today’s little sewing project is finished, and apparently I’m fully committed to Halloween already. 👻
This one has sugar skulls, orange, purple, black—and a little bit of attitude.
