There’s something about those last few minutes before closing when your brain officially clocks out before you do. 😂

After a full day of answering questions, chatting with families, helping pick out the perfect gear, and sharing all our favorite products, sometimes the words just... stop working.

If you’ve ever caught yourself mixing up sentences, forgetting what you were about to say, or accidentally creating an entirely new language at the end of a long shift, just know you’re not alone.

Our customers are always so kind and usually laugh right along with us, which makes those little moments even more memorable.

To everyone who visits us, thank you for making every day so much fun.

The second someone walks through the door, it’s all, “Hi! Welcome to Pacifier! Let us know if there’s anything we can help you find!” ✨💛

Then the second they’re out of earshot... we’re right back to being our completely normal, goofy selves.

Working retail means mastering the art of the customer service voice, and if you’ve ever worked in customer service, you know exactly what we’re talking about.

It’s practically a superpower at this point.

I caught myself looking down this little stretch of sidewalk today.

Years ago, these storefronts were filled with neighbors chasing dreams.

Now, many of them have become gyms, salons, skincare studios... or they're simply empty.

We're the last little shop standing in our little corner of North Loop.

Don't get me wrong - I love that our communities have amazing local businesses of every kind. But I do miss the days when wandering into a neighborhood meant discovering little stores you didn't even know you were looking for.

The places with creaky floors, carefully chosen shelves, and someone who genuinely lit up when you walked through the door.

The places that gave a neighborhood its personality.

The world has changed. Shopping is easier than it's ever been, and we're grateful to serve families online, too.

But every time someone chooses to step inside a small shop instead of scrolling past it, they're helping keep something bigger alive.

Not just a business.

A place to gather.

A place to discover.

A place where little moments become lifelong memories.

Maybe that's worth holding onto.
