We had a blast at AIGA Kansas City's A21 Award Gala last night!

Ocean & Sea won for Lettering + Typeface Design (and got best in category) for work on Current State Coffee Roasting.

We also won two awards for work with BlueScope Buildings (Event Branding & Environmental Graphics for the VP Converge project). In addition, the rockstar team at BlueScope brought home TWELVE total awards in various categories, which is insane for an in-house studio!

Honored to have helped on both of these projects, it took a full team effort! 🎉

When you create products, you often don't see the end of the story. That's why it's always a treat when someone tells me how the product continued living. In this case, a custom skateboard mount for a cubicle! Taking an ordinary constraint and making it awesome. This was a custom spray painted skull deck (1 of 3) from our sunset skateboard Ocean & Sea sells. How cool is this?

Current State Coffee Roasting; details from our most recent branding project. Lots of love when into this one!

Included in the brand package was a custom typeface—Kansas Sans—utilized across the design system. Championing a utilitarian design aesthetic, our goal was to create a no nonsense, high quality headline driven font that would do some heavy lifting.

Current State stands firm on their principles of sourcing ethical coffee from select regional farms.
