Been building up an inventory of ready to wear hats. I love this time of day when the shadows start getting long and sunlight fills the room. There’s nothing fancy about my studio, it’s where I work (though I’ve never thought of it as work!) and it’s also my sanctuary.

Made my best friend a hat for her birthday. She’s rocking the look! 😍

So what does a milliner do when she is gifted some beautiful satin brocade fabric by a wonderful friend? Well, she uses some of it to gift her back by making her a fun little hat!

I’m like a kid at Christmas time when bolts of materials and fabrics I’ve ordered for hat making start coming in! Look at these fabulous colors of pistachio, pastel yellow, olive, and lavender!

Y’all know I’m a student in Kathryn’s millinery academy in London (I attend sessions, workshops and meetings online obviously), but just look what I had to miss! (this weekend is Yom Kippur). It’s the academy’s annual tea! Here she is (in the red fascinator), with some of my classmates who fortunately live in England.

If you love vintage hats, fedoras, and pill boxes head to Saint Paul’s Thrift Shop in Daphne, Alabama. An incredible selection that they’ve just brought out! I bought a few pieces and will repurpose or update them by adding a few modern accents when I get some free time.

Been working on building up inventory. Finished the deep pink hat, will finish the sand colored and velvet rose hat today.

She’s finished! “
“Nuances de Bleu”, created with four layers of royal blue sinamay fabric features a glorious combination of handcrafted royal blue, turquoise, and light blue feather mounts. Turquoise blue veiling peeks through the feathers for a little added interest.
Nuances de Bleu would look fabulous with outfits in royal blue of course, but also light blue, aqua, or even hot pink or yellow outfits with some blue…use your imagination!
