Here she is! This bespoke, hand-stitched, wide-brimmed hat is crafted with four layers of light pink sinamay. The band encircling the crown is pearl pink silk abaca. The bow consists of loops of sinamay and silk abaca. The interior is lined in pink satin. This large hat measures 19” wide and the bow adds 10” in height.

Working on this large brim hat, and wondering what kind of accents to adorn it with. Sculpted abaca? Flowers? Feathers? Who knows, I’ll probably end up finishing it with something totally different! What do you think?

I stretched this soft pink fabric over a large brim block and round crown block to stiffen overnight. This one is going to take me a while, still waiting for some materials from England to arrive that I’ll use for accents on the hat, but stay tuned to see how it turns out!

Wanted to use the rest of this sheer black overlay with pearls to make a fun little hat. It is completely handcrafted and hand stitched; note the string of pearls on the twirls.
And it’s versatile…you can also wear the hat towards the back of the head, like a pillbox.
