Hey! Toto here, the quiet one. It is with a heavy heart that I let all of our fans know that our outspoken representative, Zoe, crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. She will no longer be greeting everyone when our humans release new merchandise, but I will try my best to fill her big paws! Don't worry, I am also trying to teach Millie the ropes so that she can take over one day.
Obituary for Zoe “Zo-Zo” McKenzie-Maness: Born July of 2007 and crossed over the Rainbow Bridge October 31st, 2021. Zoe, often referred to as “Zo-Zo” and “Zo-Butt”, started out life in a crib at the Puppy Den in Daphne, AL. At the young age of 6 weeks, she was spotted by her daddy Josh and the two instantly fell in love. Zoe would follow her daddy Josh everywhere he would go and every move he would make. Then 3 years later, Zoe would meet her second daddy, daddy Tim, and her sister Sugar. Shortly after, Zoe decided that she needed another sister, and requested that her daddies adopt Toto. Zoe and Toto were inseparable, often times sleeping in the same tiny dog bed, even though Toto was twice Zoe’s size. Once Muffin came along, they started 4 Lazy Dogs and Zoe quickly became the outspoken representative for 4 Lazy Dogs. Every time that you would see Zoe, she would tell you about her day, her week, her month, her year, and anything else that she could possibly think about. The girl loved to talk. After the passing of her sisters, Sugar and Muffin, Zoe decided that it was time to help another dog in need and adopted Millie into the family. Zoe and Mille would chase each other around the house as a morning ritual. As Zoe aged, she started slowing down, but never gave up on letting everyone know what was on her mind. A few days ago, at the age of 14, Zoe quit being the strong lady she was and let her daddies know that she wasn’t her same ‘ole self. With the help of the amazing staff at Rehm Animal Clinic and Med Vet, it was discovered that Zoe had an aggressive cancer that couldn’t be cured. It was then that Zoe knew it was time to say good bye and decided to spend her last few days celebrating life, eating everything she could never have, and taking long car rides. Zoe was loved by everyone that met her and leaves a huge hole in the heart of many.
Zoe was preceded in death by her older sisters Sugar and Muffin, and is survived by two sisters Toto and Millie, as well as her two daddies Tim Maness and Joshua McKenzie. In lieu of flowers and cards, the family asks that everyone make a donation, in Zoe’s name, to Wags and Whiskers so that they can continue the good fight of saving as many precious animals as they possible.
