This summer, we had the privilege of welcoming five incredible interns, including two participants from the YES Program and three from the STEP Summer Internship Program of Mobile County.

As part of their experience, our interns were challenged to think creatively about how we can better connect with their generation and share the impact of United Way’s mission. They developed thoughtful ideas, shared an outstanding presentation, and brought fresh perspectives that inspired us to bring their ideas to life.

One of those ideas was the creation of the United Way Community Impact Scholarship. Because of the passion, creativity, and dedication they demonstrated throughout their project, we felt it was fitting that they become the inaugural recipients of this scholarship.

Thank you to our interns for their hard work, commitment to our community, and for helping us continue our mission of improving the quality of life across Southwest Alabama. We are grateful for the energy, ideas, and impact they brought to United Way this summer.
