What happens when you take training beyond the classroom and pressure-test it in an environment designed to expose the gaps?
We joined Matt Hardin of Op Tempo Training Group as his team worked with an Air Force Security Forces element through a five-day training iteration covering pistol, carbine, vehicles, small unit tactics, low-light, and night vision work.
Matt founded Op Tempo Training Group after seeing a recurring problem throughout his own military and law enforcement experience: professionals being put into situations they had little prior context or training for.
His approach is built around filling those gaps before they become real-world problems. That means revisiting skills, adapting training as tactics and situations evolve, and pushing scenarios far enough to discover what works—and what still needs work.
As Matt puts it, the training you receive at the academy or agency is valuable, but being a professional means continuing to invest in the profession you chose.
Watch as Matt takes us inside the training and explains why proficiency requires more than checking a box.
