Looking back at these pictures from when I first opened Maes at just 18 years old to where I am today brings up more emotions than I can put into words. 🥹🤍
At 18, I took a chance and opened a little boutique, having no idea just how much it would become a part of my life.
Maes has been with me through so much more than just owning a business. It has been there through some of the happiest moments of my life and some of the hardest.
It’s been there through growing up and figuring out life. Through changes and growing pains.
And through every version of me, Maes has been there. 🤍
I grew up with this store. I learned a lot of life lessons behind that counter. I’ve celebrated some of my biggest moments there, cried some of my hardest tears there, made mistakes, learned from them, and kept going.
And now, I’m getting ready to walk into one of the biggest chapters of my life yet—becoming a mom. 🥹🤍
The last few weeks have brought last-minute changes, shortened hours, unexpected closures, and a lot of adjusting. Through every single change, you guys have continued to stand beside me. You’ve continued shopping, placing online orders, checking in on me, and giving me so much grace.
I don’t think I can fully explain how much that has meant to me.
And I also want to make one thing very clear…
Maes isn’t going anywhere. 🤍
We’ve been gearing up for this next chapter, getting extra help lined up, planning ahead, stocking up, and putting things into place so Maes can continue while I adjust to becoming a mom. Things may look a little different at times, but this store is still very much a part of my future.
When you shop small at Maes, you’re supporting so much more than a storefront. You’re supporting something I started at 18 and have poured so much of myself into ever since. And now, you’re supporting my growing family, too. 🥹
Every purchase, online order, share, comment, recommendation, and person who chooses to walk through our doors means something.
