I think it's time I reintroduced myself. ❤️
There are quite a few of you here now, and some of you have known me for years. Some know me as the T-shirt lady. Some know me as the bread lady. Some of you know our family personally... and some of you probably landed here somehow and have absolutely no idea who we are. 😂
So, hi. I'm Shana, and I'm the woman behind At The Well.
Matt and I have been together since 2020 and married for four years. Between us, we share seven kids—four sons and three daughters—and 10 grandkids at last count. 😂 Our youngest, Kinley, is still at home with us.
I'm originally a Crane/Galena girl, and before this chapter of my life, I spent years on a beef cattle farm where I raised my boys. Matt is originally from Aurora, and four years ago we made Monett home.
Creating things has always been woven into both of our lives. Matt has been a professional graphic designer for 28 years, so he handles part of the design work around here—and, perhaps more importantly, all the heavy lifting. 😂
Food goes back even further for me.
I grew up baking beside my Granny. Those are some of my earliest lessons in feeding people and loving people through food. Years later, as a single mom, I went back to school and studied culinary arts at OTC from 2014–2017. So while sourdough may be one of the newer chapters, baking definitely isn't.
And then there's At The Well.
The name comes from the story of the woman at the well in the Bible. I love that story because an ordinary encounter changed a woman's life—and she went back and shared what she'd found with everyone around her.
That's a pretty good picture of what I hope this little business can be.
Yes, we make things. We bake bread. We make shirts and gifts. We set up at events. We fill orders. And occasionally our dining room disappears beneath enough T-shirts to clothe a small town. 😂
But I hope At The Well is about more than what we sell.
I've always felt called to feed people. I'm incredibly grateful that God has taken a lifetime of things I've learned—baking, creating, working hard, raising a family, starting over more than once—and allows me to use those things to help support my family.
And if, along the way, we can bring a little love, faith, encouragement and joy into the everyday lives of the people who cross our path, then we're doing something that matters.
That's also why I want this page to change a little.
Of course I'm still going to show you what's coming out of the oven and what's coming off the heat press. But I also want to let you behind the scenes. I want to share some stories. I want you to know our family and our hearts. I want to laugh with you, learn about you, talk about things that sometimes have absolutely nothing to do with bread or T-shirts, and make this little corner of Facebook feel a bit more like pulling up a chair at our table.
So, whether you've been here for years or you just found us—welcome to At The Well. I'm really glad you're here. ❤️
And now I want to know about you. How did you find us? Through shirts? The bakery? An event? Do you know us in real life? Or did Facebook just toss us together somewhere along the way? 😂
