The country’s name comes from the Latin word liber, meaning free, and on July 26, 1847, Liberia declared itself an independent republic.

Liberia’s journey has included both triumph and struggle, but its people have continued to demonstrate courage, resilience, faith, and hope. At Naissance—meaning birth—we honor the freedom to embrace our heritage, express who we are, and help shape a more united future.
