Telas de la Vida - The ELA Stitchers TELAS is a group promoting quilting in the Latina Community. TELAS is a teaching sewing group promoting quilting in the Latina Community.

TELAS is an acronym for The East Los Angeles Stitcher’s, while most of us are from Los Angeles we hope this group will give all Latinas(o) (as well as non Latinas) a place to dialog about making quilts and creating a Latino flair to quilt making. We hope to include as many quilters who want to share in these goals and also participate in sharing patterns, quilting advice, tips, block exchanges, en

courage small friendship groups, charity quilts and interface with other Latinas interested in promoting quilting in the Latina community

This quilt really impressed a lot of us this past month. Made by an individual who has some challenges. They wanted a quilt, and with the help of one of our members, he just went for it! It took a year because they were really meticulous about using their old t-shirts and denim used. They used every part of the pants! Came out great
